Most installation issues can be resolved quickly with these common solutions. If you continue to experience problems after trying these steps, our support team is here to help.

1 App not appearing in my Shopify admin after installation

This usually happens due to browser caching or permission issues. Try these steps: 1) Clear your browser cache and cookies, 2) Log out of Shopify admin and log back in, 3) Check if you have admin permissions on the store, 4) Try accessing the app directly from the Apps section in your Shopify admin. If the issue persists, contact our support team.

2 Getting permission errors during installation

Permission errors typically occur when you don't have sufficient admin rights. Ensure you have 'Apps and channels' permissions enabled in your Shopify admin. If you're not the store owner, ask them to install the app or grant you the necessary permissions. Store collaborators with limited permissions may not be able to install apps.

3 Installation process times out or gets stuck

Installation timeouts can happen due to network issues or high server load. Try these solutions: 1) Refresh the page and try again, 2) Use a different browser or incognito mode, 3) Check your internet connection, 4) Try installing during off-peak hours. If the problem continues, our support team can manually complete the installation for you.

4 Error message: 'App installation failed'

This generic error can have several causes. First, ensure your Shopify store is on a paid plan (not development store). Check if you have any conflicting apps that might interfere with the installation. Try disabling browser extensions temporarily. If none of these work, contact support with the exact error message and we'll investigate further.

5 App appears installed but dashboard is blank or not loading

A blank dashboard usually indicates a loading or authentication issue. Try these steps: 1) Hard refresh the page (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R), 2) Clear browser cache and cookies, 3) Disable browser extensions temporarily, 4) Try a different browser, 5) Check if JavaScript is enabled in your browser. If the dashboard still won't load, contact our support team.

6 Can't find the app after installation

If you can't locate Coupon Defender after installation, check these locations: 1) Shopify Admin > Apps section, 2) Look for 'Coupon Defender' in your installed apps list, 3) Check if it's in the 'More actions' dropdown in your admin, 4) Search for 'Coupon' in the Shopify admin search bar. The app should appear in your main Apps section once properly installed.
