Understanding Data Sync

Coupon Defender scans the first 10,000 orders automatically upon installation. Orders processed after installation are monitored in real-time. If you encounter sync issues, follow the troubleshooting steps below.

1 Orders not showing up in the Coupon Defender dashboard

This is usually due to sync delays or permission issues. First, wait 15-30 minutes as initial sync can take time. Check that Coupon Defender has proper permissions in your Shopify admin under Apps > Coupon Defender > Settings. If orders still don't appear, try refreshing the dashboard or logging out and back in. For stores with many orders, initial sync may take several hours.

2 Discount codes not being detected or monitored

Ensure your discount codes are active in Shopify and not expired. Coupon Defender only monitors active discount codes. Check that the codes are properly configured in Shopify Admin > Discounts.

3 Dashboard is missing data

This typically means data hasn't synced yet or there's no relevant activity. For new installations, ensure past orders have been scanned and new orders are being processed. If you have historical data that seems to be missing, contact support to review.

4 Missing historical order data

Coupon Defender scans your last 10,000 orders during initial setup. If historical data is missing after 24 hours, there may have been a sync interruption. Check your internet connection stability and ensure the app wasn't uninstalled/reinstalled during the sync process. Contact support with your store details if you experience this issue.

5 Real-time data not updating or delayed

Real-time updates should appear within 5-10 minutes of order placement. Delays can be caused by network issues or apps that utilize post purchase processes. Try refreshing your dashboard and check your internet connection. If delays persist beyond 30 minutes, there may be a temporary service issue. Check the Shopify status page or contact support for current system status. Check the Shopify status page or contact support for current system status.

6 Sync status shows 'Error' or 'Failed'

Sync errors usually indicate permission or connectivity issues. First, try disconnecting and reconnecting the app in your Shopify admin. Ensure Coupon Defender has all required permissions enabled. Check if your Shopify store has any API rate limiting or restrictions. If the error persists, contact support with the exact error message for investigation.
